ProfinetCommander runs as a PROFINET IO controller on a PC with an easy-to-use graphical user interface. With ProfinetCommander, users such as engineers, maintenance personnel, integrators, and developers can test and build a PROFINET network and the IO Devices connected to it quickly and without PLC programming. With the Windows graphical interface the user can view the configuration, I/O data, parameters, alarms, and diagnostic data. The output data to the IO devices can also be changed. Users gain the ability to test and setup a PROFINET IO Device or system from their PC before putting into production or in the case of device faults or alarm conditions. For developers, the added benefits of using the tool are simple testing of their product for correct operation and diagnostic function prior to PROFINET certification testing and final product release. NEW: Version 3.1: Added Port Data Change alarms, I/O Data Display (in hex, binary, or decimal), and Unix / Windows GSDML Parsing. ProfinetCommander V3.1 continues support for "extended diagnostics" (multiple subslots per slot) and therefore can communicate with all PROFINET IO devices. A 3-day full-function trial version can be downloaded from here. The trial version can be converted to a full version by purchasing and entering a license "key". available from your local Siemens sales office by ordering the part number
below based on your Windows OS:
For Windows XP and Vista (32-bit) the 14 day trial version part number is
6GK1700-0AA08-3AA0
Important: ProfinetCommander will not run without the SIMATIC NET 2008+SP2
CD or newer installed. You need to install SIMATIC NET Softnet PN IO before
you try to run ProfinetCommander, so that their trial periods coincide.
